12 Steps To Maximum Sales Effectiveness

Here is a suggested strategy to get the most personal benefit and professional value from the Maximum Sales Effectiveness training program.

Audio
Plan an ongoing training schedule to view a minimum of one module each week.

Step 1 - Listen to the audio tapes - Review the entire program or selected module the first time for overall concept. The audios give you a comprehensive overview of the training.

Workbook
Utilize the workbook while watching the videotape. Prior to beginning the video, do the following:

Step 2 - Overviews - Scan the module at a glance to overview the major topics.

Step 3 - Objectives - Read the learning objectives for the module. These are the outcomes that to achieve, the skills to develop.

Step 4 - Key Points - Under each major topic, you will find the key points discussed on the video. This is the program material to learn. You may follow along with the video by reading the text or you may use it only as a reference.

Step 5- Take Notes - Ideas will "flash" into your mind. Those that jump out at you should be written down immediately (see Effective Note-Taking). Use the margins of the workbook or a separate binder for these important notes.

Important: Stop the videotape presentation after a module is concluded. Go to the workbook, and proceed to the questions, exercises and applications sections at the end of the module.

Step 6- Questions - The questions relate directly and specifically to the material presented in the module. By answering these questions, you demonstrate understanding of the topics and key points. Feel free to review the text to answer the questions to your satisfaction. They form a framework for a quick review.

Step 7- Exercises - Exercises are designed to help you practice and develop the skills, knowledge and systems you want to apply. Like exercising a muscle, these will strengthen your ability to utilize your learning in the field.

Step 8- Applications - To get results, you must use these concepts in your daily business and client interaction. Applications challenge you to identify the situations and people that offer you immediate opportunity for implementation.

Step 9- Action Commitments - At the end of each module, you will find two critical components. First, the action commitment represents the most important action you must take to satisfy the key result or outcome you want to achieve.

Step 10- Action Plan - After completing your action commitment, transfer it to your Action Plan by writing it in the Appendix, pages A-1 and A-2. This action plan serves as a blueprint for your most important actions to take. It can become your business development outline.

Step 11- Coaching Page - The last page of every module is the coaching page. This powerful process enables you to have an active feedback loop to practice and develop any specific skill, method, tool or principle. Use this as a self-coaching journal or accounting device to monitor what is working and what adjustments you will make.

Work on one objective each week until you internalize it.

Step 12- Listen to the audio tapes... Again - Actively use the audio cassettes in conjunction with the workbook for personal study as a take-home course or on the road when travelling. Turn your car into a university on wheels by continually listening to audio cassettes of the program. Playing the soundtrack of the program as background in the office or while exercising can activate relaxed and passive learning. This will be of enormous value and benefit to you.

A Baker's Dozen

Step 13 - Three "S" Personal Diary - A little bonus to make this process a baker's dozen. In the Appendix, you will find a series of pages, entitled "Three 'S' Diary . . . Successful Selling Strategies." Create a running list of successfully implemented ideas, methods and strategies to use as a quick reference guide to what works.
This diary will be an excellent reinforcement tool so you can clearly identify tools that have enhanced your proficiency and professional expertise.
